Frontline demonstration (FLD) is one of the most powerful tools of extension. Because farmers, in general, are driven by the perception that ‘Seeing is Believing’. Farmers lack knowledge about the scientific methods of production of crops, more often than not. They use to cultivate based on the knowledge transmitted to them by their forefathers and through the generation the level and purity of knowledge deteriorates leading to a grossly unscientific agronomic, nutrient management and pest management practices.  As a result of these they often fail to achieve the desired level of yield associated with high cost of cultivation.  The objective of Front Line Demonstration (FLD) is to demonstrate newly released crop production and protection technologies and its management practices in the farmer's field to study the constraints of production, factors contributing for higher production and thereby generate production data and feed back information.
